Bright Sky app by Hestia (may not be safe for a victim at this current time if living with the perpetrator)

Bright Sky is a free to download mobile app, launched by Hestia in partnership with the Vodafone Foundation, providing support and information to anyone who may be in an abusive relationship or those concerned about someone they know.

The app is also designed to be used by specialist and non-specialist practitioners and for anyone looking for information about issues around domestic abuse such as online safety, stalking and harassment and sexual consent.

Child Bereavement

  • Whiteside Centre – Offer counselling and support for young people over the age of 6 as long as they reside within the Oldham area. Call to speak to the team and make a referral 0161 627 8207.
  • Once upon a Smile - provides support to bereaved families and children in Greater Manchester after the death of a parent or child/sibling by offering financial support, one to one, groups and respite breaks.   • Child Bereavement UK- Support families after a bereavement. May not be able to offer anything direct but they have some good resources online about explaining and support young children after a death. https://www.childbereavementuk.org/explaining-to-a-child-that-someone-has-died  
  • Winstons Wish- They have some very good short videos online on how to help children with grief and understanding but also a helpline for support.
